🏁Getting Started
How do I rent a storage unit?
The fastest way is to rent online in about 2 minutes. You pick a unit, sign your lease electronically, and get an email with your access code and move-in instructions right away. You can be moving in the same day, 7 days a week.
Prefer to talk to a human first? Call or text us at 203-264-8272. You'll reach Paul, Karol, or Rob directly, no call center.
Do I need an appointment to rent or tour a unit?
Nope. You can rent online anytime without an appointment. If you'd like to see a unit before renting, we recommend calling or texting ahead so we can meet you on site. Staff is typically there Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 2pm and Saturday from 10am to 12pm, but we live close by and can often swing over outside those windows.
What if the size I want isn't available?
All currently available units are shown in real time on our Rent Now page. If you don't see what you need, join our waiting list and we'll notify you the moment a unit close to your desired size opens up. Turnover happens often so the wait is usually shorter than you'd expect.
What do I need to sign up?
A valid government-issued ID, a working email address, and a payment method for your first month. That's it. Everything is handled online and the whole process takes about 2 minutes.
💰Pricing & Payment
How much does a storage unit cost?
Pricing starts at $49/month for a small locker and goes up from there based on size, floor, and climate control. Our Rent Now page shows live pricing for every currently available unit.
We also run a 50% off the first 3 months special on select units, so check there for current deals.
Will my rent go up after a few months?
Not any time soon. A lot of storage companies quietly raise rates 30–80% in the first few months after you move in. We guarantee your rate for at least 9 months, no matter how busy we get. Rent with confidence.
Is the first month prorated?
Yes. Your first month's rent is prorated based on the day you sign up, and rent automatically renews on the 1st of each month going forward.
How do I pay?
All payments run through your online account. Auto-pay with a debit or credit card is the easiest option and keeps things simple. You can also log in anytime to make one-off payments or update your card on file.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. No admin fees, no mandatory insurance upsell, no bait-and-switch. A free lock is included with every new rental. Carts, dollies, and hand trucks are free to use. The only optional add-on is Tenant Protection, which starts at $12/month and is a smart safety net for your stored items.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
Nope. Everything is month-to-month. Stay as little or as long as you'd like and move out whenever you're ready.
📐Unit Sizes
What sizes of storage units do you offer?
We offer a wide range from small 4x3 lockers all the way up to 10x20 spaces. Common sizes include:
- 4x3 locker – boxes, seasonal items, small batch of stuff
- 5x5 – closet or dorm room
- 5x10 – studio or small one-bedroom
- 10x10 – two-bedroom home contents
- 10x15 and 10x20 – larger homes or vehicles
Not sure which fits you? Check out our complete guide on choosing the right storage unit size.
What size unit do I need?
It depends on what you're storing. A quick rule of thumb:
- A few boxes and some seasonal items → locker or 5x5
- One-bedroom apartment → 5x10
- Two-bedroom home → 10x10
- Full three-bedroom or larger → 10x15 to 10x20
When in doubt, size up one step. A little extra space makes moving way less stressful. Our size guide walks through it in more detail.
How tall are the storage units?
Most of our units are 7 to 8 feet tall, which gives you real vertical space to stack boxes and store tall furniture. Lockers are about 4 feet tall. Exact dimensions for every available unit are shown as Width × Depth × Height on the Rent Now page.
Can I switch to a different size later?
Absolutely. If you outgrow your unit or realize you need less space, just let us know. We'll help you move into a different size as soon as something becomes available. Since every rental is month-to-month, there are no penalties for switching.
🔑Access & Hours
What are your access hours?
Storage access: 7am to 9pm, every day of the week, including weekends and holidays. A monitored alarm system is armed outside of those hours for extra security.
Office hours (when staff is typically on site): Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 2pm, Saturday 10am to 12pm. We also stop by frequently outside those windows for inspections.
How do I get into the building?
When you rent, you'll get a personal access code via email. That code gets you through the gate and into whichever building your unit is in. Only active customers have working codes, so you'll never run into random foot traffic.
Can I access my unit on holidays?
Yes. Access is 7am to 9pm, 365 days a year. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, any day you need your stuff, you can get in.
Is there an on-site restroom?
Yes, we have a restroom on-site for customer use during access hours. Moving days can run long and nature doesn't always cooperate.
❄️Climate Control & Heating
Do you offer climate controlled storage?
Yes. Our newer buildings are fully climate controlled, which means they stay cool in summer and warm in winter to protect your belongings from heat and humidity. Climate controlled units range from small 4x4 lockers up to 10x20 spaces.
What's the difference between climate controlled and heated storage?
Climate controlled units are kept cool in summer and warm in winter, typically within a comfortable range year round. Heated-only storage keeps the space above freezing in winter but isn't air conditioned in summer.
Our original 20,000 sq ft building is heated to 60°F in winter with great airflow and ventilation, but it's not air conditioned in summer. Our newer 12,000 sq ft building is fully climate controlled.
What should I store in climate controlled vs. standard storage?
Choose climate controlled for: wood and leather furniture, electronics, photos and documents, artwork, musical instruments, vinyl records, clothing you care about, and anything with sentimental or high value.
Standard/heated storage is fine for: tools, outdoor gear, patio furniture, bikes, most household goods, and anything that can handle Connecticut's humidity swings.
Are your buildings insulated?
Yes. Both buildings are well-insulated and sealed to maintain their temperature targets. Pest control is done monthly inside and out by Patriot Pest Solutions.
🛡️Security & Protection
How secure is your facility?
Very. Our facility is protected by:
- 64 high-definition security cameras covering the entire property
- Fire and burglar alarm systems
- Sprinklers in the large buildings
- Secure access control so only active customers can enter
- An on-site manager during all open hours
- 24/7 monitored alarm outside of access hours
Do you provide a lock?
Yes. A free shiny new lock is included with every new rental. No need to stop at the hardware store.
Who has a key to my unit?
You do. Only you. We do not keep copies of customer keys. If you lose your key, we can help you get back into your unit, but it typically involves cutting the lock at your expense and replacing it.
Is my stuff insured?
Your belongings are not automatically covered by our facility insurance. We strongly recommend our Tenant Protection program, which starts at $12/month for $2,000 in coverage. It covers things like burglary, wind, fire, water damage (excluding flood), lightning, hail, and more.
Homeowner's policies sometimes cover stored items, but filing a claim can raise your premiums or even get your policy canceled. Tenant Protection avoids that risk.
What kind of lock should I use?
The free lock we provide is a solid option. If you want extra protection, a disc or cylinder lock is the best choice. They're harder to cut than standard padlocks. Using a disc or cylinder lock also lets you avoid the $200 deductible on Tenant Protection claims.
✨Features & Amenities
Do you have carts and dollies?
Yes, and they're free to use. We have plenty of handcarts, dollies, and hand trucks available so you don't have to carry heavy stuff the whole way to your unit.
Can I load and unload out of the weather?
Yes. Our main building offers indoor parking so you can drive your vehicle inside to load and unload out of the rain, snow, or summer sun. A huge win in Connecticut weather.
Is there really a basket of sweet treats?
There is. Every climate controlled building has a basket of candy near the entrance. Moving is hard work and a little pick-me-up goes a long way.
Can I ship packages to my storage unit?
We do not accept package deliveries on behalf of customers. Carriers will not deliver to individual storage units, and we don't have a mailroom set up to receive them on your behalf.
🚙Vehicle Storage
Can I store my car, truck, or RV here?
Yes. We offer indoor vehicle storage for cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers, boats, and small RVs. Indoor storage keeps your vehicle safe from Connecticut weather, sun damage, and tree sap.
Size availability varies, so check current availability or call us to discuss your specific vehicle.
Is indoor vehicle storage climate controlled?
Our indoor vehicle storage is in our heated building. It stays above freezing in winter but is not air conditioned in summer. It's still a huge upgrade over leaving a vehicle outside through Connecticut winters.
Do I need to leave keys or disclose anything about my vehicle?
You keep your keys. We just ask that your vehicle be registered and insured. If you need to access it while stored with us, you can during regular access hours (7am–9pm daily).
📦Moving In & Out
How do I move out?
Just let us know via call, text, or email when you've cleared out your unit. We'll walk through it, close out your account, and stop future rent charges. No hoops, no penalties.
We do ask for a heads up when possible so we can get your unit cleaned and turned over for the next customer. Every unit is cleaned after move-out.
Do you recommend any moving supplies?
Sturdy boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap or packing paper, furniture pads or blankets, and a good Sharpie for labeling. Uniform box sizes stack way better than random shapes. Local hardware stores and big-box retailers carry everything you need.
What can't I store in a storage unit?
A few things are off limits for safety and legal reasons:
- Hazardous materials (gasoline, propane, paint thinners, chemicals)
- Explosives, ammunition, or fireworks
- Living things (people, pets, plants)
- Perishable food
- Stolen or illegal items
If you're unsure whether something is okay to store, just ask. We'll give you a straight answer.
Any tips for organizing my unit?
A few tricks that make life easier:
- Leave a walkway down the middle so you can reach the back
- Put items you'll need more often near the front
- Stack heavy boxes on the bottom, lighter ones on top
- Stand mattresses and couches on their long edge to save floor space
- Label boxes on multiple sides so you can read them without moving them
